NFL: Week 15 Picks
Well according to NFL.com's Power Poll, the New England Patriots have overtaken the Houston Texans and hold the #1 spot in the league. Those Patriots really brought their 'A' game on Monday night in Foxboro by taking care of the Texans (42-14). The offense has been solid all year but it is the defense that has really stepped up their game. The Pats defense have the most takeaways in the league and of late they have been tough on every down.
Kirk Cousins subbed in for RGIII this week and did an admirable job. The 'Skins are rolling now but are hoping that Griffin's knee injury will be easy to recover from. Shanahan is hopeful that he might even start this week against the Browns. Washington are only a game behind the New York Football Giants for the division lead and are really playing some good football.
The Arizona Cardinals season has been as bipolar as it could get. They started 4-0, even beating the Patriots in New England! Since the 4-0 start they have lost 9 consecutive games. They got absolutely blown out by the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday by a score of 58-0.
The MVP talks are in full swing with names being thrown around like Manning, Brady, Rodgers, Watt, even Griffin III and Luck, but many believe that Adrian Peterson is this season's MVP. He is putting up ridiculous numbers on a team that is very mediocre. Herm Edwards even thinks that he may surpass Eric Dickerson's 2,105 yards in 1984. A.P. needs 506 yards in the remaining three games for the record.
Let's move to our picks. Last week started off poorly but we rebounded to finish 11/16. Here are our Week 15 picks...
Cincinnati Bengals* over Philadelphia Eagles (Thursday nighter)
Washington Redskins* over Cleveland Browns
Indianapolis Colts* over Houston Texans
Miami Dolphins over Jacksonville Jaguars
Denver Broncos* over Baltimore Ravens
St. Louis Rams over Minnesota Vikings
New Orleans Saints over Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Atlanta Falcons over New York Giants
Green Bay Packers* over Chicago Bears
Detroit Lions* over Arizona Cardinals
Seattle Seahawks* over Buffalo Bills
Carolina Panthers* over San Diego Chargers
Oakland Raiders over Kansas City Chiefs
Pittsburgh Steelers* over Dallas Cowboys
New England Patriots over San Francisco 49ers (Sunday nighter)
New York Jets* over Tennessee Titans (Monday nighter)
- * indicates road team (10/16 this week)
- 3/5 correct road picks last week
- _______ indicates bold pick
This is another week where we like the road teams (10/16 on road picks). We expect the Atlanta Falcons to rebound from their loss to the Panthers with a win against the Giants. We also like the Panthers to continue the momentum against the Chargers (who are also coming off a big win in Pittsburgh).
Our bold pick this week is the Colts over the Texans in Houston. Luck will be on Indy's side and that's good enough for us. The game of the week is the 49ers/Patriots matchup on Sunday night in Foxboro. The Patriots are playing the best they have all year and that will continue with a win Sunday night over the tough Niners.
Enjoy the games folks!
